The last thing I would like to see to create some unity is a cabinet in the place of your tv and book stands opposite the white sofa. So keep one chair in front of the shelves near the fire place and lose the other to make room for two turning chairs. Of course, if you turn towards the fire place, I do think you will have one chair too many with the two you have now. Turning chairs in the middle will allow you to use them for both set ups, without much trouble. Otherwise the red sofa will have to leave the room. If you would like to keep the red sofa, replace the white sofa with it. This will connect the two areas and make them look like they belong together.Īnother thing I would like to see to create unity is two comfortable seats that can turn, instead of the red sofa. Now to add unity to the place, get one rug that is long and wide enough to cover the two sitting areas and have all of your seats situated on it. Together with the fire place, they look like you have three chimneys in your room. The tv stand is too small and low and the book stands are too high. Finally, get rid of the tv stand and the two shelving units on either side. I would also like to see one of the chairs in front of the fire place go somewhere else. It is up to you to decide which one based on the colours you have decided for the room. The blue one stands out and not positively. They are both to small and are completely mismatched. If you could think of the colours you want to have in your living room, that might also aid the next suggestions I have for you.įirst, I would axe some things in the room. I would however like to suggest some things for improvement, because I do think the room lacks unity, especially when it comes to colour scheme.
